*FUN FACT:* THX Sound System logo theme was actually intended for testing out how the deep and loud stereo notes work! Yep, I'm not kidding! That THX theme was just a test! I've seen this from a documentary about stereo. :)
+Botany Bay Pictures Films Inc.: That is just so true, funny how THX is still using their test jingle by today. Very surprised indeed. I think the first DTS logo was a test too, right?
1:26 this is where I watched this logo, when I was young. 12:58 this is my most favorite logo of THX from Star Wars 📀. 13:56 terminator theme song. 15:38-15:55 Shrek and Donkey.
I remember having a nightmare as a kid that I was playing with toys, then suddenly,I started to hear the Deep Note. I tried to mute my ears, but it did not help. The nightmare ended when the deep note hit the max.
I absolutely love this video. When I was a kid, this logo used to scared me because of how loud it was. But then later when I was in my last year of high school, I decided to watch some THX logo history videos including yours just to see if I would ever get scared by it again. But I didn't. I ended up loving the THX sound system. It sounds so cool. As far as which THX logo variation is my favorite, I would have to go with the Terminator 2 variant. I love how they did that. And even the THX logos from 2010, 2012, 2015, and the 4K variant shown in this video toward the end all look awesome. I really wish movie studios and movie theaters were still using the THX sound system, cause it's awesome. I think the first time I ever heard and saw the THX logo in a movie theater was when I went to go see Star Wars Episode 7 The Force Awakens back in 2015. Anyway, awesome video man. 10 out of 10👍👍.
These used to scare the absolute hell out of me, no thanks to my being on the autism spectrum. Looking back now, tho, WOW, these things are audiovisual MASTERPIECES (especially 18:52) not to mention the sheer length of Eclipse… I think I love it now.
Out of all the THX logos, I really like the 5th one onward in this video. When I was a kid, this and the MGM logo always scared me. But now that I'm 19 years old, watching the THX logo is actually pretty cool. I remember watching this video in the library in high school when I didn't have anything to do, with headphones on by the way, I did have to turn the volume down, but even with headphones on, it still sounds pretty cool.
TR3X PRODUCTIONS, You're the best! THX is nostgia for me! I was never terrified of it! I've been collecting Fox DVD videos that have the logo from the promo I saw on the Edward Scissorhands 10th anniversary dvd. I'm planning on getting the five star collection dvd of Die Hard soon. But anyways, great video! I loved it! Keep up the good work man!
Fun Fact: THX Sound Stereo may have been named after his first film, THX 1138. This type of easter egg was also used in A New Hope, where in the scene when Luke and Han are trying to rescue Princess Leia, They are asked where are Luke and Han are taking Chewbacca, Luke says: "Prison Transfer from room 1138" Coincidence? I THINK NOT
Here are some facts about the trailers: Wings served as the debut of THX and was shown with the theatrical release of Return of the Jedi Broadway is the trailer most commonly seen in the wild, as it was found on many VHS, DVD, and Laserdisc releases in the 90s and early 2000s. In 2010, it was remastered in HD. The original logo music for Cimarron wasn't used for too long as many theatres complained that it blasted their speakers into oblivion. The Simpsons trailer originated as a parody in the Season 5 episode Burns' Heir. The execs at THX loved the parody so much that it was made into an official trailer. Both of the Tex trailers used CGI done by Pixar, and they both appeared in all home video releases of Pixar films up until Cars (with the exception of The Incredibles, which used the Cavalcade trailer). In 2009, when Monster joined THX, the second Tex trailer was modified to replace the cable with a Monster HDMI cable. The Cavalcade trailer had a special variant used for the home video release of Terminator 2, which used Broadway 2000's deep note. It was suspected that the Shrek trailer was originally meant to premiere with the theatrical release of Shrek. Unfortunately, Disney and Dreamworks had a heated feud at the time, and Disney threatened to blacklist THX over the trailer, especially considering that the home video release of Shrek was to come out the same day as the theatrical release of Monsters Inc. The trailer eventually premiered in 2006. Bounty was created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of THX. It didn't last long as THX didn't have the rights to the films it showed/borrowed sound bytes from. The Science of Sensation trailer was the first trailer to utilize THX's current deep note. The car featured in Tex 3 is a BMW. Amazing Life uses a variety of real-life organisms to use for individual creatures, namely the passionflower, mushrooms, daisies, and lotus seed pods. Plus, this is one of the most beautiful trailers from THX. The Horton trailer was used for the theatrical release of Horton Hears a Who. Musical Wisps may have been created as a CG test.
1:482:132:44 I know this has NOTHING to do with this but when I hear these 2 i think of the song "Walk Away" by Christina Aguilera because of the pitch of these 2 Also, 2:13 is used on the VHS of "The Little Mermaid" (1989)
If only THX was the sound system for Teen Titans Go! To the Movies and the logo at 7:41 started the film! That would of been awesome!! (And Funny to see the Review from Siskel and Ebert)
The 6th logo was the first time I saw the THX logo in the theatre. It was when they re-released the Star Wars Trilogy. I was prepared for it, then the sign broke down and I was wondering WTF when they brought in that little robot.
I'm still scared that this diddly-dang logo will appear in a theater I've never been to. So as a safety net, I ask what sound system they have. Most of the theaters I've been to had Dolby or DTS Sound Systems. So, Thank goodness for that. I won't have to cover my ears.

The THX logo's loud sound and pitch-black background mainly stuck around in my nightmares because not only am I nyctophobic (afraid of the dark), but I also have sensitive ears.
When I was a child I was terrified of this logo, and when I was in kindergarten, for indoor recess we came into another kindergarten classroom and watched a movie, so one day we were watching Beauty and the beast special edition and as soon as the teacher pressed play on the menu, it came to that logo. (And the same thing happened when we were watching princess and the frog, and Mary poppins in music class.) I was abt 5 or 6 at the time. I’m 14 now and I’m not scared of it now bc it’s something that happens with age. The reason why I was scared of it bc it was loud. In 2018 I was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and one of the symptoms is phonophobia which means fear of loud sounds, so if I hear loud noises I get overwhelmed or worked up, and sometimes I cry or get mad for no particular reason.
I remember Pyrerealm gaming included this logo for a GTA V video, his character goes into the theatre, when the logo comes on, the guy says “Oh no not this logo again!” And the whole theatre shakes and blows up at the end.
Now THIS is a history lesson we won't sleep through!
Thanks for the compliment! To be honest, I agree with what you said, let's hope no-one sleeps whilst watching this, lol! Glad you enjoyed it. :-)
Yep! No one should sleep through watching this, or shall I say "You shall not pass by watching this video!" ;)
TR3X PR0DÚCTI0NS But what if someone did? DUN DUN DUN!! XD

This one isn't ear rape that will blow your speaker to shreds unlike yours, That's why you keep the audio level down.
Imagine if you're an astronaut then you see the THX eclipse logo. For some with THXphobia that would be nightmare fuel.

I'm still scared of it and I'm almost 25
